Read Your Camera Manual

I decided to read my manual in detail today and found some really useful information as summarized below
  • There is a feature called Focus Lock.
  • Position the flash above the lens when shooting vertically.
  • Shade lens with hand if too much light is coming in.
  • Lower ISO will result in slow shutter and less noise.
  • Use high ISO for dimly lit areas.
  • I can set white balance manually against a white sheet of paper.
  • High EV better for light colored subjects. Low EV for dark colored subjects.
  • Lower image size to 2MPs [from 8MP] I can get up to 6.1X optical/digital zoom without deterioration.
  • Continuous shutter to take many photos continually.
  • Use on screen grid display in composing photos.
  • Contract, Saturation, Sharpness can be adjusted under quality menu.
  • I can control flash intensity.
